Therapeutic Ultrasound Course for Treating Conditions in The Mastitis Spectrum

Our course is designed to provide you with two clinical interventions for the lactation population

1.     Utilization of therapeutic ultrasound specifically for the use of treating breast conditions in the mastitis spectrum

2.     Flange Fittings for individuals that are pumping

This course will focus on utilization of therapeutic ultrasound specifically for the use of treating breast conditions in the mastitis spectrum. It is applicable to any health care provider that has therapeutic ultrasound within their scope of practice.

There is a huge need in our country to expand this program to serve lactating individuals and we want to ensure your success by sharing how to build a profitable business model into your established practice. You will be provided with all the resources for billing, supplies needed, consent forms, waivers, and marketing forms to be able to launch your program as soon as you complete the course.

There is also a module on Flange Fitting which in itself is another stream of revenue for your practice and ensures a better overall spectrum of care for these patients. The course includes quarterly LIVE reviews for the first year to provide ongoing support.

Who Benefits from Therapeutic Ultrasound:

·       The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine supports the use of therapeutic ultrasound for any individual needing management of a condition in the mastitis spectrum (“Clogged Milk Duct” ductal narrowing, inflammatory mastitis, bacterial mastitis, phlegmon, abscess, galactocele, and subacute mastitis). Pain is one of the top reasons reported for cessation of breastfeeding and lactation, thus management of painful inflammatory conditions is imperative to support families that choose to lactate.

Who Benefits from Flange Fitting:

·       Any individual that is lactating and plans to pump.  The average flange size that comes with pump parts is 24mm, yet the average nipple size is 12-13 mm. Improper size is associated with less effective milk removal, pain and increased risk for initiation of the mastitis spectrum. Providing this service for women in the perinatal population is key in supporting their lactation journey!

Who would benefit form taking this course:

·       Any health care provider working with families during the perinatal time period have the ability to make significant changes and to improve their lactation journey!
